Marco Simoncelli receives a lovely tribute from Napoli
The Napoli football team has paid a lovely tribute to MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli, together with his parents and Fausto Gresini, on its pitch, with a shirt bearing his name and signed by all the players, which was handed over to his family.
The football team Napoli wanted to pay a lovely tribute to Marco Simoncelli, so during the match against Bologna they remembered the Italian who lost his life in 2011 at the Sepang Circuit, just days before what would have been SuperSic’s 25th birthday.
The upcoming January 20 is the Italian’s birthday, and the Napoli team, which shares a sponsor with Gresini’s Team, San Carlo, has paid tribute to number 58 in its own way, inviting Sic’s parents and Fausto to watch the match against Bologna and presenting them with a shirt bearing Marco’s name and signed by all the players.
It was received by his parents, Paolo and Rossella, on the pitch at the San Paolo Stadium, together with the club president, the vice president and the team members, as well as Gresini, and of course with all the affection of Napoli fans who were in the stadium.
Another unforgettable day for the Simoncelli family, who continue to receive expressions of affection from all over the world, both from motorcycle fans and followers of the Italian’s world championship as well as from the other riders and people in general. Soon it will be SuperSic’s birthday, so his family, friends and acquaintances will have a lovely memory of the 58 who passed away last season in a tragic accident at the Malaysian track of Sepang.
A lovely tribute from Napoli.
