Luca Marini the best in the 2023 MotoGP pre-season test in Sepang
Rider Luca Marini has been the fastest in the 2023 MotoGP World Championship pre-season test at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia.

The MotoGP World Championship held its official test last week at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia, so teams, bikes and riders have been able to work for three days in this very special 2023 pre-season with so many novelties.
The first session belonged to young Marco Bezzecchi, who set a time of 1:58.470 to become the best of the day at the Malaysian track, followed by Maverick Viñales and his incredible Aprilia, which was only 0.130s behind the leader. The top 10 was completed by Bastianini 3rd, Martín 4th, Bagnaia 5th, Aleix 6th, Zarco 7th, DiGGia 8th, Alex Marquez 9th and Morbidelli 10th.
The second day was for Jorge Martín, who set a time of 1:58.736, leaving Miguel Oliveira 0.103s behind and closing the top 3 with Pol Espargaró 0.145s off the pace, so the GasGas rider’s lap time was very interesting. The top 10 was completed by Quartararo 4th, Bagnaia 5th, Raúl 6th, Marini 7th, Rins 8th, Bastianini 9th and Brad Binder 10th.
And finally, on the last day we saw Luca Marini become the benchmark with a time of 1:57.889, leaving Bagnaia very close on the times, only 0.080s between them, with Viñales in third place 0.147s back. The top 10 was completed by Bastianini 4th, Martín 5th, Aleix 6th, DiGGia 7th, Bezzecchi 8th, Alex Márquez 9th and Marc Márquez 10th.
In the combined times of the three days we saw Luca Marini be the best of this early run-out ahead of the 2023 season start, followed by Bagnaia 2nd, Viñales 3rd, Bastianini 4th, Martín 5th, Aleix Espargaró 6th, DiGGia 7th, Bezzecchi 8th, Alex Márquez 9th and Marc Márquez 10th. The rest of the Spanish riders placed 11th Raúl Fernández, Mir 12th, Pol Espargaró 13th, Rins 19th and Augusto Fernández 22nd.
It has not been easy days with the track conditions and weather in Malaysia, but all participants have given their maximum to work and prepare the next 2023 season of the MotoGP World Championship. Ducati is for now the big protagonist in this first outing, and we will see the remaining reactions from the different factories.
Onwards to 2023.
