Lorenzo very consistent in the race and Spies with his bad luck at Indy

The Yamaha Factory Racing riders finished the Indianapolis Grand Prix in very different ways, as Spies continues his streak of bad luck.

The Yamaha Factory Racing riders experienced the Indianapolis Grand Prix in very different ways, on one hand Jorge Lorenzo earned a new podium that brings him closer to the title in the premier class and establishes him as one of the most consistent riders, while his teammate Ben Spies was once again hit by bad luck.

Jorge Lorenzo closed out this challenging round at Indy, one of the circuits he likes least, with a satisfying second place, along with a very risky gamble on his part: starting the race on soft tyres, which he felt more comfortable with, even though his main rivals all started on hards.

Closing out this race at Indy with that second place, this time unable to catch Pedrosa, but with good feelings and more motivation heading into Brno.

For his part, Ben Spies is completely cursed by bad luck, the 11th had started like a shot and was dominating on his home ground, but Pedrosa overtook him and suddenly chaos struck for him: his engine blew and left a white plume of smoke across the whole track, undoubtedly another GP for Spies to forget, who at this rate will be eager to leave this championship and his bad luck behind.

Now on to Brno without rest.

Statements from Jorge Lorenzo:

We thought the soft tyres could have a good final stint, but we took the risk. At the start they weren’t doing badly and I was able to follow Ben and Dani. Then Ben had that engine problem, which was lucky for my position, but I feel sorry for him.

Dani was a step ahead today and his tyres had the advantage at the end. Either way, second was the best we could do today, which is very good for the Championship.
