Lorenzo and Spies with good feelings for MotoGP Silverstone
The Yamaha Factory Racing team will arrive this weekend at the Silverstone Circuit with its batteries charged and ready to keep moving forward in MotoGP.
The Yamaha Factory Racing team is ready and prepared for the next date of the season at the Silverstone Circuit. Jorge Lorenzo’s victory at the Circuit de Catalunya has undoubtedly given them strength to keep going and plenty of encouragement, so they hope to achieve a good result on the British track, although they know it won’t be easy with rivals such as Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner on the circuit.
So this week they face a new challenge, at a circuit where 2011 was somewhat complicated due to the track conditions, with a crash and 0 points for the 99; but they now arrive with renewed strength, with Lorenzo as the world championship leader and 20 points ahead of Stoner. So they must continue along this path and improve step by step, trying to repeat the spectacular race he produced in 2010. As for Ben Spies, things are harder, but he has good feelings after Catalunya, since despite his crash he was fighting with the leading riders, so it seems the problems are being resolved.
Furthermore, this track brings good memories for Spies, since in 2010 he achieved his first podium in the premier class, so watch out for the 11, who looks stronger and comes eager to set up a good weekend with the Yamaha.
Statements from Jorge Lorenzo:
Silverstone is a circuit I really like. In 2010 I think I rode the best race of the season; we won with a big advantage. Unfortunately last year it rained and I crashed while trying to catch Casey.
We’ll see this year if we can repeat the 2010 race. It is a circuit that suits the Yamahas well, and I am confident that we can achieve a good result.
