Lorenzo and Spies gear up for the MotoGP race at Misano
Yamaha Factory Racing riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies arrive at Misano after a race at Indy with mixed results for each of them, but now it's time to put that race behind them and focus on the Italian track this weekend.
The Yamaha riders return to action without a break after the event at the Indianapolis circuit, now they must land at the Misano track, so they return to European soil.
The current MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo, has a strong record at the Misano circuit, achieving podium finishes without interruption at the Italian track, taking second place three consecutive times in the premier class. The Mallorcan is 44 points behind Stoner, but there are still six rounds left on the calendar, so there are chances to turn the situation around.
For his part, Ben Spies is returning from the USA to Misano with high expectations. Additionally, the 11 has good memories of the San Marino track, as last season he showed his potential when overtaking, achieving a very commendable sixth place.
But the memory of 2010 is not the only important one, since in 2009, ethe North American won on this track while competing in the World Superbike Championship.
Below you can see the statements from Jorge Lorenzo:
I hope to leave the last race behind. We are heading straight to Misano now, a circuit I like and where I have won and achieved some podiums.
My team and I are going to try to return to the top and keep fighting for the championship!
