Jorge Prado Becomes World Champion in MX 65cc
Today we continue talking about young stars of the motorcycle world, specifically Jorge Prado. The Galician has become the new World Motocross Champion in the 65cc category, and he also leads the European championship, so we have a great talent here.
At just ten years old, he is already a champion, breaking records and becoming the first Spaniard to win a world title in the MX 65cc category, and the second championship overall after the one won by Carlos Campano in MX3.
In Cingoli, the single World Championship round for the youngest riders was held, with the 65cc, 85cc and 125cc categories. In the first of these, Prado was the best. He not only took the overall victory, but also set the fastest time in practice, the fastest lap in the race and won both heats, so he achieved a perfect 100%.
The first heat was complicated. He was passed by Gabriele Oteri at the start, although a mistake by Oteri at a jump left the way clear for our rider, who dominated the rest of the race to win by just over 10 seconds over second place.
The second heat was even clearer, an absolute domination by Prado. He was overwhelming from the start, and no one could take that position from him or get close to him. Enzo Lopes finished second and Riccardo Lauretti third.
Now he must go for the European title, as the Galician also leads this championship, and the event will be held in a few weeks.
