Rider Javier Orellana claimed victory in the first round of the 2015 Pata European Junior Cup powered by Honda at the Motorland Aragón circuit, a great start for one of the favourites of this promotional cup that supports the World Superbike Championship.

The battle was extremely intense, with eight riders fighting for the win, but in the end Orellana was the smartest in the class and took the victory, ahead of Grassia and Pusceddu, who finished second and third respectively. Orellana of the Europ Foods team therefore overcame fierce competition to take the win in the first race of the campaign.

The 17-year-old rider from Alicante, runner-up in this championship in 2014, beat Paolo Grassia (MVR Racing Team) by just 0.028s at the finish line, with the Italian Emanuele Pusceddu (SK & Itaba Moto) completing the podium. These three riders were part of the leading group of eight, which also included Mika Pérez (RBC Team), Hannes Soomer (Lub Línea Auto24Ring), Matteo Ciprietti (Ciprietti Corse), Guillaume Raymond (Activebike) and Illan Fernández, who finished from fourth to eighth place as they crossed the chequered flag.

In relation to the FIM Europe Women’s European Championship, we saw Avalon Biddle was the best, as she closed her participation in this first round from 13th place. So there was a lot of action in this promotional cup, with our riders among the protagonists. Congratulations to Orellana, who starts the 2015 season with great strength.

The next round will take place at the Assen circuit this weekend, so they will continue supporting Superbike, Supersport, Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600. The young talents of the championship are forging their path step by step towards their future in this competition.
