Héctor Barberá: "The test has been extremely important for us"
Rider Héctor Barberá took part this week in the test at the Jerez Circuit with Ducati and the CRT MotoGP bikes, where he made the most of his working day on the Andalusian track before heading to Sepang.
Rider Héctor Barberá had an interesting pre-season test this week at the Jerez Circuit. Specifically, it was on Wednesday when he got on his satellite Ducati GP12, the GPZero, to ride alongside the CRT MotoGP bikes and keep preparing for 2012.
Barberá commented that although this test lasted only one day, it has been extremely important for him, and to arrive at the MotoGP IRTA in Sepang with more strength, the Pramac Racing rider will surely land in Malaysia with much more eagerness to keep working on his machine.
Statements from Héctor Barberá:
The test has been extremely important for us, above all because we carried out various tests with the electronics and the power, which worked very well and allow us to set up the bike quickly for the upcoming races.
With these tests they managed to make a lot of progress, and they will arrive at the IRTA in Jerez with a lot of work already done on that Andalusian track. However, before that, both his team and he must tackle Sepang 2, another three days of extreme weather conditions in order to fine-tune his Ducati.
A lot of work done in advance, thanks above all to the feeling with the team and the good work they have done over such tightly scheduled days.
Training at this level just six days before riding the bike again in Malaysia is fundamental, especially when this was not the planned schedule. We have returned to Valencia with a very good taste in our mouths.
Remember that the rider originally assigned to these tests was Nicky Hayden, but due to his injury it was decided that Karel Abraham and Héctor Barberá would ride, and of course, throughout all the days, their test rider, Franco Battaini. Now he will have to get back on his bikes at the Sepang Circuit, as MotoGP action returns with the second pre-season IRTA.
Time to work, and safe travels.
