FB Corse, new team joining for MotoGP 2010
It seems the teams for the 2010 MotoGP season are taking shape, including the arrival of FB Corse. The Italian outfit is developing a prototype in order to take part in next year’s World Championship in the premier class.
The project comes from Mauro Forghieri, former engineer for Ferrari, Bugatti and Lamborghini, and Franco Antoniazzi, who were backed by BMW before the German brand finally decided to compete in the World Superbike Championship, although at the beginning it did provide them with assistance.
So, taking advantage of the work already done, both Forghieri and Antoniazzi decided to press on and develop a prototype with an unprecedented three-cylinder engine that could be superior to current engines in corner speed; it also has access to all the latest technological advances.
The calendar planned by the creators of the project and by Dorna is for FB Corse to make its MotoGP debut at the final race of this season, that is, in Valencia. However, this prototype does not follow the current regulations, which could make its participation at Cheste difficult.
These teams that keep emerging give Dorna hope, since the number of bikes on the premier-class grid is very low. Next season, therefore, an increase in participants is expected, so FB Corse may be able to enter MotoGP 2010.
We will remain attentive to MotoGP.
