Elena Rosell will take part in the Moto2 World Championship at Assen, replacing Simón
Rider Elena Rosell will make her debut in the Moto2 World Championship next week, as the Valencian rider contests the seventh round of the world championship season at Assen.
The current Spanish Speed Championship rider will ride the Suter formerly raced by Julián Simón, so after Jordi Torres stood in for the 60 at Silverstone, Rosell will do so in Holland.
Mapfre Aspar Team certainly knows exactly which riders to give an opportunity to, and now it is the turn of one of the Spanish riders with the greatest potential at present.
This will be the first time the team has had a woman in its ranks, so everything will be new for both her and the team, but we are sure the partnership will work very well and that Rosell will make the most of this opportunity to show her potential.
Elena will take her place among the women who have competed in the Motorcycle World Championship, alongside names such as Nikoletta Kovacs, Marketa Janakova and Katja Poensgen.
Below you can see Rosell’s statements:
It is an opportunity I have been waiting for since I started competing on motorcycles. I must thank, and very much so, the trust that MAPFRE Aspar Team has placed in me. I am going to make my debut in the Moto2 World Championship with one of the best teams.
Statements from Aspar:
We are very happy that Elena will be taking part in the Moto2 World Championship.
It is a double satisfaction because Elena Rosell comes from the BANKIA Cradle of Champions. I have followed her career since she was little and, to be honest, it has surprised me a great deal.
She has enormous capacity for development. She is still in her development period as a rider, but I believe she can grow a lot in the Moto2 World Championship.
At last!

Hola Jess,
