Dominique Aegerter wins Supersport race 1 at Misano
Rider Dominique Aegerter has won race 1 of the Supersport World Championship at the Misano Circuit, with Bernardi 2nd and Odendaal 3rd

The Supersport World Championship was the last to take to the track at the Misano Circuit for race 1 of the weekend on the Italian layout, so there was maximum anticipation among the participants, especially among the home riders.
The start was good for Aegerter, while the pole-sitter, Manu González, lost several positions after the race start, but remained in the leading group. While Dominique kept pushing hard, with 15 laps to go we saw Manu overtake Cluzel, although the Frenchman stuck to his wheel and Bernardi and Oncu joined the battle.
The laps went by without major developments at the front, while we saw many crashes such as those of Caricasulo, De Rosa and Soomer, among others. Meanwhile, Aegerter remained in the lead, but with Odendaal very close behind and González-Cluzel-Bernardi getting into a very tight moment, which luckily did not end in a crash, but did cause Manu to lose two positions.
And then came the last lap, with Aegerter taking victory in race 1 of this championship at the Italian round, while Bernardi managed to keep his rival, Odendaal, at bay, so the three riders took the podium in the first race. We witnessed an incredible finish between Cluzel and González, but the Frenchman finished 4th. We also saw the incident between Herrera and Alcoba, which ended with María on the ground just before reaching the finish line.
The top 10 was completed by Cluzel, González, Oettl, Krummenacher, Oncu, Tuuli and Mercandelli. Alcoba 12th. Aegerter extends his lead.
On to the next race.
