Day 2 and final day of the MotoGP test at Motorland Aragón

The MotoGP World Championship riders who were testing at the Motorland Aragón Circuit have wrapped up the private tests with good feelings and are now focused on the Marco Simoncelli race in Misano.

Today the MotoGP World Championship test ended with Repsol Honda, Yamaha Factory Racing and LCR Honda at the Motorland Aragón Circuit, with the fastest rider of this second day being the current leader of the premier class, Jorge Lorenzo. The Mallorcan closed with a 1:48.244, leaving behind Pedrosa, Bradl, Spies and Rea.

For Yamaha Factory it has been days of hard work, testing a new chassis and carrying out race simulations with their M1, as well as testing a new engine, so there was plenty of work in the garage and on track for the team of the 99 and the 11. Although with this lap time he did not achieve the best of the test, the 1:47.983 set yesterday by Pedrosa places the 26 as the fastest in the private tests.

Pedrosa also worked today with his RC213V, trying several things such as a different exhaust and a rear shock absorber, and despite not having covered many laps they leave happy because they have made progress ahead of the upcoming races.

The third position went to Stefan Bradl. The young German rider has remained immersed in the bike with factory specifications, but his main work has focused above all on improving rear grip on his usual bike, so he fulfilled the request of Honda, but concentrated on his more immediate work with his MotoGP bike.

Closing the test was Ben Spies, who was satisfied with all the work carried out and with the improvements seen over race distance, carrying out a race simulation like his teammate and fine-tuning the setup. Meanwhile Jonathan Rea was fifth on the timesheet, reducing the gap to the fastest men, although he still has a lot to do.

The British rider will take part in the San Marino and Motorland Grand Prix in principle, and will do so with number 56, hoping to make a good showing, although a very busy September awaits him. Right now he was catching a flight to Germany, as this weekend he has a World Superbike race. A lot of work, but excited and happy with the results.
