Day 1 of SBK and MotoGP testing at the Jerez Circuit

Several teams from the World Superbike Championship have started an important test today at the Jerez Circuit ahead of the 2013 season and before the ban on testing comes into force, so every moment must be made the most of in order to arrive in the best possible condition for the pre-season tests and training sessions. That is why several teams have gathered at the Andalusian track from today until Wednesday for some of them.

Today we have already seen heavyweights of the championship, such as Tom Sykes, the 2012 Championship runner-up; Eugene Laverty, Leon Haslam or Jonathan Rea, among others. Furthermore, it was not only SBK teams present, as Supersport also has its representatives. Specifically, the Kawasaki Provec Team, the Ten Kate Team, the official Aprilia team, the Red Devils team and MRS-Adrien were seen in action.

The missing teams, that is Ducati, BMW Goldbet and Barni Racing will enter action on Wednesday, together with several teams that continue training and also a visit from MotoGP with the Ducati brand and the Avintia Racing team. Although some of the most anticipated riders have already been seen in action today, with Tom Sykes, the runner-up, doing many laps to work on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, alongside his teammate Loris Baz. The Ten-Kate team of Honda has been with Rea, Haslam, Van Der Mark and Zanetti, the full squad for what promises to be a very interesting 2013 for them.

Also working hard is the newly signed rider Sylvain Guintoli with Aprilia, and his teammate Eugene Laverty. On the other side, the Red Devils team has started testing with Michele Fabrizio, while the MSD Racing Supersport team is also working on track with current champion Kenan Sofuoglu and the Frenchman Fabian Foret. Completing the list of riders on the Jerez track was the MRS-Adrien team with riders Jeremy Guarnoni, Romain Lanusse and Christophe Ponsson.
