Dani Pedrosa leads the FP2 in Malaysia with authority
Total domination by Dani Pedrosa and Honda in the second free practice session just held at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. The Spaniard was almost a full second faster than his teammate, the Australian Casey Stoner
The Spanish rider pulled a blistering lap time out of nowhere in the final part of the session, setting a spectacular 2:01.250, which was no less than 0.8 seconds faster than his teammate, Casey Stoner.
Dani’s domination of Honda was total in this second free practice session, as the first five classified riders all set this time, and the first four are the HRC factory riders, so behind Dani and Casey came Andrea Dovizioso, Marco Simoncelli and the Japanese rider Hiroshi Aoyama.
The session was very quiet, as apart from Jorge Lorenzo’s stand-in, the Japanese rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga, who crashed twice, there were no noteworthy incidents, just a few slides under heavy braking, but nothing serious.
Behind them came Colin Edwards, Álvaro Bautista, Randy De Puniet, Ben Spies, Karel Abraham, Nicky Hayden, Loris Capirossi, Valentino Rossi, John Hopkins, Cal Crutchlow, Toni Elías, Héctor Barberá and Katsuyuki Nakasuga.
This race will be special for the lads at Honda, as they will be looking for their first win at this circuit in the 800 era, since so far they have not managed to win at this Sepang circuit.
