Rider Dani Pedrosa has made his first statements after the opening race of the MotoGP World Championship at the Losail Circuit in Qatar, and after the news broke about his physical condition and his intention to stop the season and recover 100%.

Pedrosa has talked about a bit of everything on his personal Repsol blog, a commitment he has never missed since it began several seasons ago, and in which the riders of Honda explain how they felt after the Grand Prix held the previous Sunday. This time he had to talk about the race in Qatar, one of the toughest for the 26.

The young rider wanted to explain his situation to all his fans, noting that for a year he has had problems with his right forearm, as we reported when the news first broke, and that he was operated on for those ailments during 2014, but has been unable to find a complete solution to this condition.

During pre-season he tried to speak with every possible doctor to get their opinions and the options they saw for stopping this injury. Most doctors advised him not to have any more surgery, and he has been through other types of treatment, but after the Qatar Grand Prix he realized he had achieved nothing and that the ailment persists.

But the 26 is not giving up and continues to look for the best solution. What is clear, however, is that he currently cannot compete at 100% of his capabilities, and for a rider that is distressing and very frustrating. For now Pedrosa has not wanted to express his final decision, but we will know soon.

Below you can see Pedrosa’s statements:

I have already explained in general what is happening to me, but I wanted to do it here and write to you directly. As you know, for a year I have had problems with my right forearm. Last year I even had surgery, but the problem was not solved.

During pre-season I travelled a lot, precisely to try to find a way to resolve this problem and be able to compete this season at one hundred percent. The Qatar GP has confirmed to me that this will not be the case.

We are looking for a way to fix it. What has become clear to me after the Grand Prix is that I cannot compete at the maximum of my capabilities.

That is all I can say for now. I hope I can soon give you good news because I will make a decision in the coming days.
