Cluzel will start from pole position in SSP at Silverstone

Five Honda are the fastest bikes at the Silverstone circuit; tomorrow we'll see how Supersport ends up.

The 600cc category in the Superbikes championship, Supersport, has completed the second of its qualifying sessions, and with it we now have the times that will set the grid for tomorrow’s race.

On pole position Jules Cluzel, the Frenchman from PTR Honda, wants to spoil the home rider’s party. Lowes qualified second, but tomorrow in the race he will go all out to take this victory.

Third place went to Lundh. It’s impressive to see that no fewer than five Hondas CBR600RR occupy the first grid positions. Maybe it’s true that the chassis Honda is the best of them all. This thought is related to the weather at Silverstone, where the track is not for the faint-hearted.

The fight for the championship is between Sofuoglu, Lowes, Foret and Cluzel, although it’s still too early to rule out a few more. Kenan finished in tenth position, and it seems he just isn’t feeling completely comfortable at this circuit.

Baldolini continues to impress us with his Daytona. He has been the benchmark with this machine and qualified in ninth position. We’ll see tomorrow in the race whether he can fight and score good points.

Further back we have someone who is close to us: we are very used to seeing him alongside us in the CEV, Kenny Noyes, who is doing a wildcard here. The conditions have not been easy at all, and he managed to qualify twenty-first. Surely in the head-to-head tomorrow he will put up a great fight. We also hope it’s dry, so he can race without the tension of wet asphalt.
