CEV Test Day 1 at Jerez Circuit

The Spanish Speed Championship held its first pre-season test day at the Jerez Circuit today, with many riders and teams present who are following their work ahead of the 2012 season in the different categories: Moto3, Moto2 and Stock Extreme.

We don’t have much information about the private training sessions of the CEV, organized by the Cardoso School driving school at the Andalusian track, especially regarding lap times and results of the different riders, so we cannot know who has the best pace or who is starting to stand out in each category. However, we know that more than 50 riders have been at the Jerez circuit today and will be pushing hard tomorrow.

The first race is approaching, it will be on April 1st at the Jerez track, so it’s time to get ready and make the most of this training. Some of the leading teams in this championship, such as Laglisse, Monlau, Motorrad or Promoracing, are working from Jerez, with high temperatures and excellent conditions for riding.

Some of the CEV riders confirmed for the test are Álex Márquez, Xavi Forés, Román Ramos, Daniel Sáez, Josep Rodríguez, Juanfran Guevara, Kyle Smith, Santi Barragán, Albert Arenas, Quique Ferrer, Andrea Migno, Berto López, Pecco Bagnaia, María Herrera and many more; among them several rookies such as Kenny Noyes with his Suter in Moto2 and with the Palmeto, or Remy Gardner in Moto3.

There has also been a surprise, as Carmelo Morales was seen for the first time in Stock Extreme on the Kawasaki, for now completely white, but a surprise at this test, since he is leaving the Moto2 category where he was runner-up.

There are many more riders on track, but naming them all would be complicated; this mini list is a brief summary and we look forward to more information about what happened on this first day of CEV Jerez 2012 pre-season.
