Casey Stoner: "Working on strengthening the arm that gave me problems"

Rider Casey Stoner commented on his personal blog about his current situation regarding the arm that bothered him in Qatar, and he hopes to arrive at Jerez, the second round of the 2012 MotoGP calendar, with his strength restored.

Rider Casey Stoner wrote last Monday on his Repsol personal blog, in which he commented on his situation and the problems he was still having with his arm. This will undoubtedly affect the Australian, who will have to work hard on that area or make a clear decision to go under the knife, but it is always difficult.

For the moment, the reigning MotoGP world champion continues working, training and strengthening, and of course enjoying time with his family, Adriana and Ally.

This week has been quite quiet and I have spent it enjoying as much time as possible with Adriana and Ally.

I have spent most days with my trainer, working on strengthening the arm that gave me problems in Qatar, and I’m pleased to say I am already much better. We have gone out on the mountain bikes, but the weather here in Switzerland has been quite bad and we have not gone very far from home.

He has also been able to enjoy a little of his other passion, karting, spending some time with his kart prepared by Chaz Davies, the Superbikes rider, although he has not got on it yet, but he will test it shortly with his team.

I have also had time to redecorate the Birel kart I have with some stickers and decals that Chaz prepared for me. I can’t wait any longer to go out and try it again. Let’s see if I get the chance to enjoy the kart this week with the team.

Of course, he now has his sights set on the next round, at Jerez, the second race of the 2012 season, where he will once again battle with his top rivals, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo.

I’ll be spending these days more or less the same way. I will keep training and preparing for the Jerez GP and spending time with the family before travelling again.

What do you think of his arm problem? The decision will be difficult, but if he keeps going with it he will have to go under the knife, compartment syndrome is very complex, although we don’t know the Australian’s exact diagnosis either.
