Brembo Life Jacket Jackets

The well-known brake manufacturer Brembo has decided to take its industry in a new direction. This time it wants to go beyond stopping us in our tracks, or rather our wheels, and instead protect the rider directly in the event of an accident.

The Italian brand has developed the Brembo Life Jacket jackets, whose main feature is the introduction of an Airbag system. However, by focusing on this, they have not neglected the design, because Italians and fashion are practically synonymous.

These jackets have an urban cut, designed for everyday use, and at first glance they look light and comfortable.

The Airbag uses a very ingenious system, separate from everything we see in the competition categories. Brembo has opted for a mechanical rather than an electronic system (based on sensors and gyroscopes), which significantly lowers manufacturing costs and, consequently, the retail price.

The activation system consists of a strap whose end, similar to a seat belt, is anchored to the motorcycle so that, in the event of an accident, the bike’s own speed pulls the strap and inflates the airbag. It takes only 80 milliseconds for it to deploy. Once inflated, it remains in this state for 60 seconds.

The jackets come in several colors: white, black, blue, red, sand and silver grey. They also come in several models.

Beyond all this, they have made the jacket lightweight, with a weight of one kilo for the lightest model and one and a half kilos for the heaviest.

The price will be around 390 to 590 euros, depending on the model, prices that are very competitive for this market.
