Barberá finishes ninth and leaves Misano satisfied

A good weekend for Héctor Barberá, who managed to keep his Ducati in the midfield and gather experience for the future, being one of the most consistent red bullets in both practice and the race.

The threat of rain at the start of the MotoGP race did not spoil the good race put in by the rider from Dos Aguas. Héctor did not let those four drops fool him and went all out in the race.

Although he rode cautiously in the first three laps, he enjoyed his riding and gradually built up his pace until finishing a good ninth place, also being the second Ducati classified behind Valentino Rossi’s factory machine.

It was a good weekend, as he put in some fabulous training sessions, which allowed him to achieve a very good setup that he was able to make the most of in the race.

Statements from Héctor Barberá:

First of all, I want to point out that we have had a fairly complete weekend. Then, regarding the race, yesterday we went to inspect the track to plan the start, look at braking points, etc.

At the start, I think I did everything perfectly up to the first corner, but since it was drizzling I didn’t brake with much confidence, and the front end tucked in on me. I had to save the scare and at the next corner several riders passed me. As a result, I completed two laps quite slowly, perhaps thinking too much; I thought it was going to rain more. And that was the key to the race: starting with doubts at the beginning, because after that I rode very comfortably and fast for the rest of the laps.

I gave it one hundred percent, I rode at the same pace we had in practice, in short what we had planned. It’s a pity not to have started stronger, it’s something I must improve for the future. I’m happy because I think I did what I had to do, and we concluded the weekend with another good result.
