Antonelli wins CIV race 1 at Misano with Rins 2nd

Rider Niccolò Antonelli showed great superiority at the Saturday round of the Italian Speed Championship at the Marco Simoncelli Misano Circuit, where the first Moto3 race was held. Without a doubt, the world championship contender was the best, with no rival, leaving his closest pursuer thirteen seconds behind, so an iron grip on a track he knows and a bike he controls.

Behind the 23, Álex Rins finished, although distanced from the winner, it is not bad at all for the rookie of the 2012 season in Moto3, as he secured second place on a circuit he did not know and with many top-level rivals on track. Although he managed to stay behind the 23 in the early laps, he later lost strength, as Niccolò was giving everything and pushing in these first laps to open a gap, which he achieved.

It was not an easy race for any of the riders; even the winner suffered from the heat on track and dehydration, but as expected, he is very happy with his triumph on this track and hopes to repeat it in today’s race.

For his part, Rins commented that he tried to keep up with his pace, but did not want to take risks and throw everything away, closing his debut on this track and in this championship with a very positive second place. Further back came Kevin Calia, who now leads the Italian national overall standings.

Great result for Rins, who will try to continue along this path in today’s race.
