Álex Debón retires from the Motorcycle World Championship after Valencia

The former rider and current Director of the Aeroport de Castelló Team in the Moto2 World Championship, Álex Debón, announced yesterday his retirement from the championship after the end of the 2011 season, so we are losing one of the greats of the paddock.

Yesterday we received the news of the farewell of former rider Álex Debón from the Motorcycle World Championship. The Sporting Director and Owner of the Aeroport de Castelló Team has announced that after many years he will end his professional activity in the championship.

Therefore, Debón will leave the championship once the race at the Cheste circuit on November 6th is over, leaving behind a career full of successes, both as a rider and later as a director.

Below you can see the statements from Álex Debón:

After a life devoted entirely to motorcycling, I have made the decision to put an end to my career in this sport in order to dedicate more time to my family and especially to my son Alex Debón Júnior, who came into the world on September 9, 2011.

I thank all the sponsors, friends and members of the team for all the work, effort, dedication and affection they have given over these years to bring the name of CASTELLÓN DE LA PLANA together to the place it deserves.”

A big hug
Alex Debón

In this clear way, one of the heavyweights of the Motorcycle World Championship said goodbye. Thank you, Álex.
