Álex De Angelis the fastest in FP3 of Moto2 in Australia

Rider Alex De Angelis sets the best lap time in the FP3 of the Moto2 World Championship, and positions himself as one of the favorites for pole and the race.

Rider Alex De Angelis was the fastest in the Moto2 World Championship FP3 at the Phillip Island circuit, the Sammarinese rider shows great strength on this track and keeps his main rivals at bay in this third free practice session of the category.

The 15 set a time of 1:34.336, leaving Marc Márquez in second place, just over two tenths behind. De Angelis is strong and can make a lot of noise in the fight for pole position and in the race, so everyone should keep a close eye on the veteran rider.

Completing the top 5 were Max Neukirchner in third, Mika Kallio in fourth and Thomas Luthi in fifth, three dangerous riders who are climbing aboard for the Australian round; while further back, Claudio Corti was sixth, Kenan Sofuoglu seventh, Bradl Smith eighth, Michele Pirro ninth and Mattia Pasini tenth.

It was not a very hard-fought session, with some changes in position, overtakes and passes, but always with the same protagonists and not much excitement in this FP3.

As for the rest of the Spanish riders, they are placed outside the Top 10, with Pol Espargaró 11th, who put in some good practice laps on the Australian track, spending many minutes in the leading group; Aleix Espargaró 14th; Tito Rabat 19th; Ricky Cardús 22nd, getting to know the circuit to find his feeling; Jordi Torres 24th, Kenny Noyes 25th, Joan Olivé 33rd, including a crash at turn 4 of the track; and to close out the Spanish positions, Moreno is making huge strides and improving with every session.

We are in for a very intense fight for pole position, with several protagonists: De Angelis, Márquez, Bradl, Iannone and a few others who always make things difficult. We will also be waiting to see what time Márquez sets, given the penalty that will be imposed on him.

Plenty of excitement, don’t miss it.
