Albert Arenas wins the Moto3 World Championship race in Jerez with a thrilling finish

The Moto3 World Championship was the first to hit the Circuito de Jerez to race the restart of the 2020 season on the Andalusian track, so there was maximum anticipation after so many months of the Championship being halted due to the pandemic.
The start was very good for Suzuki, who held his position and went all out from the outset, gaining more than half a second in the first few metres on the chasing rider, Andrea Migno. But on the second lap we saw Vietti coming up from behind with great force and overtaking the Japanese rider to take the lead with 19 laps to go.
The leading group was very big, and we saw many changes of position, but with 15 laps to go we saw four riders break away from the race a little, Vietti, Arbolino, Arenas and Migno, although with the chasing group very close on their tails. With 10 laps to go, we saw Arenas in the lead after an incredible attack, but with many riders glued to his wheel; without doubt the final was going to be a nail-biting one.
And then came the moment of the finale, with just 5 laps to go, when we saw Arbolino and Binder manage to overtake Arenas, without doubt a very interesting group battle right to the end. Then came the last lap, with Binder’s crash included, so there was a lot of tension and finally, victory went to Albert Arenas, who made a veteran’s move in the final part. Without doubt, the Catalan knows the Andalusian track perfectly and showed it, first with an incredible pass on Mcphee and then on the inside at the last corner on Arbolino, while Vietti and Mcphee were involved in a crash.
Victory for Arenas, followed by Ogura in 2nd, Arbolino 3rd, Migno 4th, Vietti 5th, Fernandez 6th, Rodri 7th, Suzuki 8th, Antonelli 9th and 10th Masia.
On to the next race.
