AC Milan's tribute to Marco Simoncelli
Rider Marco Simoncelli was honored last Sunday at San Siro by AC Milan, so another lovely tribute for the 58.
Rider Marco Simoncelli was honored last Sunday at San Siro, in a match in which AC Milan faced Lecce, and in which all the members of the team decided to pay this lovely tribute to the 58, since the Italian had many friends within the team, especially the captain, Massimo Ambrosini, and the goalkeeper, Christian Abbiati.
Without a doubt, the Sepang Grand Prix last season was a harsh blow for the sport in general. The loss of such a young rider left everyone stunned, which is why they wanted to remember their great friend, his 58, in this Serie A match.
The tribute was beautiful: 58 young players from the football school of Coriano, SuperSic’s hometown, ran onto the pitch of San Siro wearing commemorative shirts, all of them signed by the players of the Italian team, and holding one up to the crowd, so the 58 was more than present. The act closed with a final “Ciao Marco” to the MotoGP rider.
So another beautiful moment shared by the fans and followers of motorcycle racing, who remain dismayed by the loss of this young life, and by the other riders who have died doing what they loved most in recent years. Unfortunately, we have had to say goodbye several times over the past seasons.
Supersic lives on in the memory of MotoGP, of its fans, teams, colleagues and rivals. Everyone remembers the 58.
Beautiful tribute.
