Xavi Forés renews with Team Motorrad for 2012
Team Motorrad and Xavi Forés will continue in 2012 fighting for the Spanish and European titles in the difficult Stock Extreme category riding the BMW S1000RR
The Valencian rider Xavi Forés has renewed with Team Motorrad to compete next year in the Spanish and European Stock Extreme Championship aboard the bike that broke all records in its first year, the BMW S1000RR.
The winner of this year’s last CEV race, held at the Jerez circuit, in which the Madrid-based team achieved a historic triple, continue their journey in this difficult category in this way. For 2012, Forés is a clear contender for the title.
The German bike is also one of the most competitive on the grid, and has improved its performance even further, so that Xavi will have more opportunities to claim victory, also facing the challenge of winning the European title for BMW for the first time.
The Valencian rider has been linked to Motorrad since 2010 and this year has had the opportunity to take part in the world and national Moto2 championships as well as the World Superbike Championship, replacing James Toseland, and finishing the season back with Motorrad, with a European podium and a season-ending top step of the podium in the CEV Stock Extreme.
Statements from Xavi Forés:
I am very happy to return to what I consider the best team I have ever been with. I want to thank BMW Spain and Motorrad for the support they have always given me, and we will fight hard to win another national title and the European one next season as well.
Statements from Manuel Alonso, Team Manager Motorrad Competición:
I want to thank you for the trust placed once again in our Xavi team. He is a great rider and the personal and professional relationship is fantastic. We have a very clear goal for 2012: we will work to win the Spanish Championship again and also to give BMW a European title.
The Stock Extreme category will be very strong next season and there will be tough competitors, but the team is prepared to fight again for the number 1 spot; our S1000RRs for next year will once again be in the fight for the Spanish Championship.
