Viñales very strong in Moto3 tests and Carrasco surprises in Valencia
The Laglisse team in the Moto3 World Championship has been the big protagonist of the first IRTA tests at the Valencia Circuit, where Maverick Viñales has been the dominant figure over the three days, being the fastest on his KTM; meanwhile, his teammate Ana Carrasco surprises with great pace and stands out among the participants.
This week we have had a lot of action at the Valencia Circuit with the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championship teams, with the small category being where the JHK T-Shirt Laglisse team has stood out, with rider Maverick Viñales as the protagonist, although his teammate, Ana Carrasco, has also left great impressions in this 2013 pre-season.
The first IRTA Moto3 training sessions have given the first impressions of what can be expected this season, and it seems the big favorite is 25, Maverick Viñales, who on his KTM has flown during the three days of testing and has been the best in the combined overall standings.
Although it won’t be easy afterwards in action, in every race and Grand Prix rivals and surprises will appear, like the one given by his teammate, Carrasco in these first tests. Without doubt, the former CEV rider is positioning herself as one of the surprises of the year in the small category. She has adapted very well to the world championship and is coming on strong, so watch out for the 22, who is coming to do great things, although she will find it difficult at circuits she doesn’t know. A welcome surprise, since the rider finished the training sessions running below last year’s pole time and ahead of riders with much more experience.
Statements from Maverick Viñales 1’39″299 (247 laps):
It has gone quite well because we have worked hard and every day we have improved a little more. This is already the third test with the team and KTM, and we feel more and more comfortable. The most important thing is that we don’t stop improving and everything is heading in the right direction, but we also have to take into account that this year there are more rivals and everyone is very fast. I still have a long way to go before I have the bike under control, but for now we are adapting well. Next week in Jerez we have to work more with the bike and the tyres, to keep moving forward.
Statements from Ana Carrasco 1’40″946 (209 laps):
The truth is I’m very happy because we have set a good time and every day we have been among the top fifteen, and I think that for it being the first time I train alongside those who are going to be my rivals, it’s very good. I didn’t expect to be so good as soon as I arrived, but we must keep working to stay here. Maverick has been very fast, but if we keep working this way we will get closer and closer, though it’s clear that having the information from the fastest rider in the category helps and motivates. In Jerez next week I hope to keep learning.

Hola Rafael,
Saludos 🙂
