Viñales, Luthi and Lorenzo dominate the Mugello Warm up

The World Motorcycle Championship Warm up was the last free practice before the races, and the fastest were Lorenzo, Luthi and Viñales.

Rider Maverick Viñales has continued to dominate the Moto3 category in the warm up at the Mugello Circuit, the Catalan remains the fastest with a time of 1:58.394, leaving his main rival more than half a second behind. Danny Kent has not been able to get any closer to the blistering pace the 25 is showing.

Behind him, closing the top 5 are Alex Rins in 3rd at 0.616s, Luis Salom in 4th at 0.694s, and fifth, Romano Fenati, but almost a second back. So Viñales has undoubtedly made a statement once again and is ready to give it everything on this Italian track.

The rest of the Spanish riders finished 6th Vázquez, 12th Moncayo, 14th Faubel, 16th Martín, 20th Viñales, 32nd Moreno.

In the Moto2 category, the fastest in the warm up was Thomas Luthi. The Swiss rider managed to lap in 1’52.685, leaving his closest rival Andrea Iannone 2nd at 0.070s, and 3rd Pol Espargaró at 0.250s. The Catalan continues to surprise considering the physical condition he is in, so even in the warm up he has been up front and pushing hard.

Closing the top 5, 4th Corti at 0.257s and 5th Nico Terol at 0.303s; a spectacular evolution for the 18. This is undoubtedly his turning point race: the work is paying off and we can finally see him at the front.

The rest of the Spanish riders finished 6th Márquez, 14th Rabat, 15th Pons, 16th Simón, 19th Elías, 26th Cardús, 33rd Rosell.

In the MotoGP category, we once again had the rider with the most pace in the entire grid: Jorge Lorenzo. Although in qualifying he could not take pole position, it has become clear that he has the best lap-to-lap consistency, and in the warm up he was the fastest with a time of 1:47.473, leaving his closest rival, Andrea Dovizioso, 2nd at 0.462s. In third place, at 0.490s, was Casey Stoner, fourth place went to Dani Pedrosa at 0.523s, and 5th Nicky Hayden was already almost six tenths back.

The top 10 was completed by Bradl 6th, Crutchlow 7th, Spies 8th, Rossi 9th and Barberá 10th. Meanwhile, the rest of the Spanish riders finished 11th Bautista, 14th Espargaró and 17th Silva.
