The 2017 Spanish Trial Championship has kicked off today in La Nucía, the town in Alicante where we have seen the first event of the year, so there is maximum anticipation for the start of the season of this competition, in which we have seen all categories except TR1.
This was the eighth occasion, and third consecutive one, that this municipality has hosted a round valid for the National Championship of the discipline, following the 2006 (2), 2007, 2008, 2013, 2015 and 2016 seasons. The organizers responsible for bringing this first event of 2017 to a successful conclusion have been the Motorcycling Federation of the Valencian Community and MC Equipo Off Road La Nucía, who have once again prepared a course with a total of 15 sections – 12 for TR2, 11 for Junior, TR3, TR4, Cadet and Women A, and 10 for the rest of the categories – to be completed in two laps and with a maximum time of 5 hours, very similar to what has been seen in recent years.
That is, dry earth and dust sections, with a few roots to get past, and some sections with loose stones among the pine trees. All of them very easily accessible for the public and in the vicinity of the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano in La Nucía, where the paddock was located once again.
A total of 99 riders have taken part in this first race of the season. In sporting terms, the winning riders today and, therefore, the first leaders of the SPEA RFME 2017 Spanish Trial Championship, have been the following: Ib Andersen, in TR2; Rodrigo Marchal, in Junior; David Millán, in TR3; Àlex Canales, in Cadet; Adrià Albejano, in TR4; Berta Abellán, in Women A; Eva Muñoz, in Women B; Esther Sánchez, in Women C; Javier Palau, in Veteran; Carlos Palma, in Youth A; and Roger Casas, in Youth B.
The next round of the SPEA RFME 2017 Spanish Trial Championship will be held on March 19 in the Balearic town of Mancor de la Vall, in Mallorca, organized by Moto Club Zona Gas. The categories TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet will take the start there, levels that will be joined by TR1.
