Total success for the MXSub18, MXMaster and MX85 categories at the National Championship in Soria
The National Motocross Championship arrives at the Cabeza Perro Circuit

Last weekend it was the turn of the MXSub18, MXMaster and MX85 categories of the National Motocross Championship, and the venue was the Cabeza Perro Circuit, which became the track where the eighth round of Spanish Motocross was held in this 2019 season. If last week Calatayud enjoyed incredible races, this past Saturday and Sunday the fans from the province of Soria were able to enjoy the riders.
The Moto Club Lairón was in charge of organizing the event. In the timed training sessions, Antonio Villegas, Raúl Álvarez, Eduardo Solozabal, Yago Martínez and Edgar Canet took pole position in their respective categories.
After their good lap times, Yago Martínez also managed to stand out above the rest and take the victory in both motos. In the remaining podium positions, up to four riders were involved, sharing them out across each race. David Jiménez and Ángel Luis Arribas crossed the finish line behind Martínez in the first moto, and Alex Gamboa and Jorge Rey in the second. As a result, the podium featured Yago, Jiménez and Rey.
In the smaller displacement category, there were two protagonists: Edgar Canet and Víctor Puig. The former won moto 1, with Puig and Fabio Costa behind him. In the second, Víctor saw the checkered flag before anyone else and therefore stood on the top step of the podium. Antonio Gallego and Canet himself finished second and third, respectively. In this way, Canet and Costa received the trophies for second and third place.
The three MXMaster categories (35, 40 and 50) are very much alive. With Álvarez, Villegas and Solozabal as the fastest in qualifying, the Saturday race, among the riders entered in 40 and 50, ended with a win for Villegas, with Francisco Javier Fernández second and Raúl Castel third. On Sunday the other two were held. In the 35 and 50 race, Raúl Álvarez was the best, followed by Antoni Torres and Ramón Brucart. In the last and decisive one, with the 35 and 40 riders, Raúl won again. Ramón finished second and Antoni third. The winner of MXMaster35 in San Esteban was Raúl Álvarez, of MXMaster40 Raúl Castel, and of MXMaster50 Oscar Lasheras.
The next round of the RFME Spanish Motocross Championship will be held on 1 and 2 June at Motorland Aragón, which will mark the close of the season for the Elite, 125cc and 85cc categories.
