Torres and Izzo triumph at the Night of the Jumps in Switzerland

This weekend the best Freestyle has landed in Basel, specifically at Sankt Jakobshalle. It is the seventh time the championship has visited this city, so there is maximum interest and a devoted crowd to see the biggest stars of this discipline such as David Rinaldo, Dany Torres, Maikel Melero and Libor Podmol, among others.

Jose Miralles, Hannes Ackermann, Massimo Bianconcini and Kai Haase did not make the final of this first day of the Night of the Jumps, while the rest prepared to put on a great show at an event that was highly anticipated in Switzerland.

The best of the night was our Dany Torres, followed by Clinton Moore and Brice Izzo, on an unusual podium without any of the favourites apart from our bull, who amazed everyone with all his jumps and tricks. Some of the most applauded were the Paris Hilton, the Oxecutioner and the Lazy Backflip. With this result Podmol remains the overall leader with 82 points, David Rinaldo is just 2 points behind, while Bizouard is 3rd with 72 points.

In relation to the MAXXIS Highest Air competition, the best was Massimo Bianconcini with a jump of 8.80 metres, followed by our Jose Miralles with 8.50 metres, and closing the podium with our Maikel Melero and his 8.00 metres. In the ROCKWELL Best Whip Contest, the best was Melero.

The second day took place yesterday on the same stage, with Brice Izzo as the winner this time, on a very intense night with a large crowd once again cheering on the great riders. While David Rinaldo placed behind him, the French riders dominated this second day, with our Dany Torres finishing 3rd after some difficulties landing a few of his jumps.

The rest of the final was completed by Libor Podmol in fourth place, with Maikel Melero 5th and José Miralles 6th. Therefore, all of our riders advanced to the final of a very spectacular second day, in which brutal combos and jumps were seen, the trademark of these great riders. Now we will have to wait until the event in Beijing on 18 August, a short summer break for the Night of the Jumps.

For its part, in the MAXXIS Highest Air the best was Massimo Bianconcini with 9.70 metres, followed by Maikel Melero with 9.50 metres and Kai Haase with 9.00 metres. In the ROCKWELL Best Whip Contest the best was Kai Haase.

With this result, Rinaldo now leads with 98 points, followed by Podmol with 96 points and Izzo with 83 points. Our riders are placed in 5th position Torres, 7th Miralles and 9th Melero.
