Toni Elías goes all out at Indianapolis, Misano and Estoril
Rider Toni Elías knows that his future will depend on the six rounds still left in the 2009 MotoGP World Championship, since if he manages to show his potential, some team might decide to count on him for next season.
Although the Catalan knows the situation is complicated, he is not closing any doors, and he will try to prove in the remaining races that he can do very well, but if in the end he fails to secure a bike in the premier class of motorcycle racing, he will look at other options.
There are still six races left, and at circuits I like, such as Indianapolis, Misano and Estoril.
Last year I said it was either MotoGP or nothing. But now I am willing to consider other championships, such as the World Superbike Championship or Moto2.
The 2009 season has been complicated, since his Honda has had many chassis problems, but in the last races he has achieved good results and has been able to show that his place is in MotoGP, although this time he is not closing the door on anything.
As the rider himself has already mentioned, some of the doors he has open are the World Superbike Championship and also the new category of the World Championship, Moto2, although his preference is to stay in MotoGP.
The next round will take place this weekend at the Indianapolis circuit, a very special track where last season we had problems with the weather, and where many things could be decided this year, such as the future of Elías, Lorenzo and also the fight for the title in the premier class.
We will keep a close eye on MotoGP.
