Toni Bou wins double at the Trial Outdoor World Championship in Great Britain
Rider Toni Bou scores a double at the last round of the 2012 Trial Outdoor World Championship season in Great Britain, with Raga 2nd and Dabill 3rd.
The second day of the Trial World Championship in Great Britain also went to Toni Bou. The Montesa Honda rider keeps control of the world championship and takes his 11th win of the season, closing out a great year in the World Championship and earning his 50th victory in the World Championship.
The Outdoor World Championship ends with the Spanish rider as absolute champion, already crowned at the previous round in Italy, and with these two more wins he is even more of a champion. After winning the first day, yesterday in Great Britain he dominated again, especially after building an 8-point lead over second-placed Adam Raga on the first pass through the course.
In the end, in the race Bou finished with 12 penalty points, followed by Raga with 21 penalty points and Dabill 3rd with 41 penalty points, so the Montesa rider had no rival on this second day. In the overall classification of the event, Fajardo finished 4th, Cabestany 5th and Fujinami 6th. In the overall standings Bou finished with 250 points, Raga with 187 points and Fajardo 3rd with 186 points. The battle between Raga and Fajardo for second place was very close, but in the end it was the Gas Gas rider who took it.
Statements from Toni Bou:
Fifty victories is a lot. I feel very happy to have achieved them, and my wishes at this moment are to keep enjoying this sport as much as I have until now, feeling comfortable on this magnificent Cota 4RT and hoping that injuries leave me alone.
I cannot ask for more. This weekend has been perfect, I competed without pressure, and today I felt much better than yesterday. Six points per lap is a good benchmark.
