The Yamaha M1 is unveiled at Jerez with Lorenzo and Spies

The Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP World Championship team has been unveiled today at the Jerez Circuit, alongside its two star riders, Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies, showing the world their M1 2012 machines.

The Yamaha Factory Racing team has officially unveiled itself today at the Jerez Circuit, before starting the final pre-season test ahead of the first race of the year. They wanted to present their M1 machines and colours, all accompanied by their two stars for 2012, Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies.

Both riders were present at Yamaha’s official launch at the Andalusian track, where we were able to see the new 99 and 11, with their respective colours, although nothing eye-catching. With Eneos joining the team, many expected some orange tones, but in the end they opted for the blue colour of the Japanese brand and for including more white, considerably more white than last season.

As for the numbers, Lorenzo has painted his 99 in fire red, while Spies has chosen to take a risk and presents an 11 with a mirror effect, certainly very original. So the two Yamaha men are now ready to make waves from tomorrow at the Jerez Circuit, where, for the first time, all the teams and riders come together for what is the pre-season IRTA, or the Grand Prix zero, as it has been nicknamed.

At the riders’ post-presentation press conference, following the unveiling of the bikes and their suits, we were able to hear some statements from the riders. Jorge Lorenzo commented that he feels very motivated for 2012, as it is the first pre-season where he feels these sensations and this feeling, so he is ready to make waves in what promises to be an exciting 2012.

The directors and team managers were also present, Lin Jarvis, Massimo Meregalli and Wilco Zeelenberg, but the real stars were the YZR-M1, Lorenzo and Spies.

Don’t miss the videos and photos of this new machine for 2012.
