The Suzuki MotoGP Team has completed its test in Austin

The Suzuki MotoGP Test Team has completed the working days at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, all of it under the guidance of its test rider Randy de Puniet, who has been able to work on the Japanese machine ahead of the return to the MotoGP scene next season.

After this test in Austin, they are now preparing everything for the next test at the Termas de Río Hondo Circuit in Argentina, after the MotorcycleGP World Championship race next week, specifically scheduled for the end of April.

De Puniet has not been alone, as Nobuatsu Aoki remains his great support, and on this occasion Kevin Schwantz has also been very involved, since the veteran rider continues to prepare his participation in the 8 Hours of Suzuki with the Yoshimura Suzuki Superbike team.

De Puniet completed a total of 62 laps and improved his best time by more than half a second to finish with a lap time of 2:05.85.

I’m happy to have found an improvement in acceleration and traction control. We also spent a lot of time looking for the right settings for the new electronics and finally found a good compromise. We keep working on the chassis we chose, and it has been a good day. Yesterday we spent a lot of time preparing the bike for this new circuit. I also hadn’t ridden for several weeks, so I had to regain the feeling.

In any case, today we improved our lap time with race tyres and found a good rhythm. I wasn’t able to set a fast lap at the end of the day because we had a small problem with the bike and lost half an hour. Even so, I feel we had the potential to go faster. Now we’re going to Argentina, to a new circuit, and I’m glad we can continue the work so soon after this test.
