The awards ceremony of the Motorcycle World Championship always closes the season, and this time was no different: once again in the city of Valencia we were able to see the great protagonists of the three categories collecting their prizes and awards.
The first to take the stage were the young prospects of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, with Karel Hanika as champion, Jorge Martín as runner-up and Manzi in third place in this 2013 season, which left so much intensity behind.
Then came the time for the Moto3 riders, first seeing the rookie of the year, Álex Márquez, who follows in the footsteps of his brother, so watch out for Márquez next season, as he joins the list of favorites for the title. Then we saw Álex Rins receive the award for being the rider with the most poles of the year, the super pole man with 8 this season. Next came the three protagonists: Luis Salom, who finally finished third, Rins, who finished second, and Viñales, who was crowned Champion in a last race in Valencia that was as unpredictable as it gets.
It was the turn of Moto2, with the rookie of the year being Jordi Torres, from Team Aspar, who has gone from strength to strength and adapted to his first full season in the World Championship, with incredible results. Then Pol Espargaró received the award for the category’s super pole man, with 6 to his personal tally. The Valencian rider of the year was also honored, with Nico Terol being the recipient.
And finally we saw the three greats of Moto2: Tito Rabat, who finished third; Scott Redding, second; and Pol Espargaró the champion, who clinched the crown in Japan in the penultimate round of the season. Following this category, awards were given for best race, best organization and best circuit, with Motorland Aragón being the honoree in this 2013 edition.
Then came the moment of truth, MotoGP, with Marc Márquez as Rookie and Super Pole man, so two awards for the 93. Then we saw the three fantastic riders take the podium: Dani Pedrosa, who finished third; Jorge Lorenzo, who finished second; and the new world champion, Márquez. Aleix Espargaró was also honored as CRT Champion.
