The MAS team of Molina, Valera and Agoston trains in Almería
The MAS team of Álvaro Molina, Valera and Agoston have been training at the Almería circuit to prepare for the World Endurance Championship race at Le Mans.
So they are fine-tuning their S1000RRs ahead of the legendary endurance event on the French track, which will take place on September 24, so the date is approaching and they need to have everything ready after their good performance at the 8 Hours of Albacete.
The aim of these tests was to improve the reliability of the machine, with a new gearbox version, an additional radiator and a fairing developed to lower the engine coolant temperature.
The first part of the day was spent in short runs to fine-tune the new components until reaching the best performance. Afterwards, longer sessions were held to practice and train ahead of the runs at Le Mans.
Below you can see Álvaro Molina’s final assessment:
Thanks to the new radiator and to aerodynamic improvements made to the Speed Fiber fairings to improve the airflow cooling the engine, we managed to keep it from exceeding 100 degrees.
The new gearbox did not cause any problems, although we will still have to accumulate mileage until we reach the 3,500 km covered during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
These training sessions in such heat leave me exhausted, but they have to be done to improve my physical preparation.
