The Effenbert Liberty Racing team is going all in on the SBK
Effenbert Liberty Racing has decided to field four riders in the World Superbike Championship, including McCormick, but at the same time it has ended its Superstock 1000 venture.

Rider Brett McCormick will finally be the fourth man for the Effenbert Liberty Racing Team in the World Superbike Championship, joining Sylvain Guintoli, Maxime Berger and Jakub Smrz, completing a line-up with a lot of potential.
However, its move up from the Superstock 1000 Championship to Superbikes has come alongside the news that the Czech team is ending its FIM STK campaign, focusing fully on SBK. As a result, rider Federico Sandi is left without a team and without a bike for the first race of the season at the Imola Circuit.
Regarding this decision, Mario Bertuccio, the team owner, made the following statement:
It is a corporate decision that can only be interpreted one way: the desire to give maximum support to our four World Superbike riders: Guintoli, Smrz, Berger and McCormick.
The agreement with Federico Sandi has come to an end, although we are going to support him because we believe in his talent.
The new addition will ride the number 68 on his Ducati 1198, and will be the team’s fourth machine, fulfilling McCormick’s dream, “The Kid”.
Riding in Superbikes has always been my dream, and now I am going to be able to do it. Lately I have been studying and memorising circuits, because it is only logical that I don’t know them perfectly, so when the day comes I will be better prepared.
It is going to be a challenging season in which I will face very experienced riders. Without a doubt, it comes at a great time to learn.
