The Crescent Fixi Suzuki SBK of Hopkins and Camier
The Crescent Fixi Suzuki Superbike World Championship rider and his two riders, John Hopkins and Leon Camier, are ready for the first real test at Phillip Island Circuit next week.
The Crescent Fixi Suzuki team will soon unveil its machines for the 2012 Superbike World Championship, although we have already been able to see a small preview of what the bikes of John Hopkins and Leon Camier will look like for this coming season in the premier SBK class.
A bike based on the British Superbike machine that gave Hopkins such good results last season, but with an improved GSXR1000, combined with Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes and Motec electronics, and with the help of Yoshimura. Right now both bikes are on their way to Australia, where the first official pre-season test for the Superbikes will soon take place, and in less than a month the first race at the Phillip Island Circuit.
With the move to the World Superbike Championship they could not continue with their sponsor Samsung UK, but they have found other brands that will be their sponsors, such as the currency exchange company, Fixi; that is why the team name is Crescent Fixi Suzuki for the 2012 season.
The prospects for Suzuki and its two riders are an unknown, although knowing Hopkins, they will surely give their all, and as for Camier, he has experience in the championship and will surely adapt to his new machine shortly, and if all goes well they could challenge the favourites this season, although we will have to see how they perform at the Australian test and also in the two races to be held at Phillip Island on 26 February.
Don’t miss the preview of Hopkins and Camier’s machines in these photos.
