The CEV and its free practice sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya
Today the first free practice sessions of the Spanish Speedway Championship (CEV) were held at the Circuit de Catalunya. The three categories and the Kawasaki Ninja Cup enjoyed a great day on the Catalan track, being able to prepare for tomorrow's official sessions and Sunday's race.
Today saw the first day of free practice for the Spanish Road Racing Championship at the Circuit de Catalunya, where the Moto2, Moto3, Stock Extreme and Kawasaki Ninja Cup categories began testing for the fourth round of the season.
A day with perfect weather conditions to take on the first practice sessions at a Catalan track that is celebrating this weekend, as the CEV’s 100th race will be held along with the 15th anniversary of one of the most important national championships in the motorcycling scene. So all the riders have enjoyed an ideal day to get out on their bikes and work to fine-tune their machines ahead of tomorrow’s official practice sessions and Sunday’s race.
Although we woke up today to some bad news, Jordi Torres, the current leader in the Moto2 category, suffered a fall while training on his bicycle and sustained a serious sprain in his left foot, which complicates this fourth race of the season. It is difficult because the foot affects the gear lever, but the team is trying to find a solution on the bike to ease the situation.
In Moto3 we were able to see all the riders in action, as well as in Stock Extreme and the Kawasaki Ninja Cup. Although we don’t have lap times from the free practice, it is clear that the favorites are ready to continue the battle they left off after the race at Motorland Aragón.
Tomorrow the real action begins. Don’t hesitate: come to the Circuit de Catalunya this weekend and enjoy to the fullest the best national speedway championship, with great riders and the breeding ground of the world championship.
