Takaaki Nakagami surprises in Moto2 and takes pole in Japan
Takaaki Nakagami takes the Moto2 pole at the Motegi Circuit, Japan.

The Moto2 World Championship was the last to hit the track in Japan to contest pole position, so we watched the riders of the intermediate class put up a fight and surprise everyone with Takaaki Nakagami, who had shown no signs all weekend.
Nakagami was not one of the favourites for pole position at this event at the Motegi Circuit, but he managed to set a time of 1:53.776 and took his first pole of the season, and the fifth of his racing career, so the Japanese rider had plenty of strength at home, in front of his people and his fans.
But the Japanese rider will not have it easy, as alongside him is Álex Márquez of EG 0,0 Marc VDS, who finished just 0.128s behind the leader, while in third place is Xavi Vierge, certainly a great result for the Tech3 Racing rider, who felt very comfortable on the track, finishing 0.270s behind the leader.
The top 10 was completed by Pasini in 4th, Oliveira 5th, Syahrin 6th, Cortese 7th, Schrotter 8th, Simeon 9th and Fernández 10th. The rest of our riders were Axel 16th, Iker 18th, Isaac Viñales 22nd, Navarro 26th and Edgar 32nd.
For their part, the two riders who have been the strongest in recent races and who are fighting for the category title did not have a good day: we saw Thomas Luthi finish 13th and Franco Morbidelli 15th. But be careful, because both the Swiss and the Italian are riders capable of great comebacks, and we will see them fighting for the front positions.
Maximum anticipation to see the race.
