The British riders Tom Sykes and Sam Lowes have dominated the warm-up of the Superbikes and Supersport categories that have just taken place at the Silverstone circuit. Meanwhile, the Frenchman Barrier did the same in the Superstock 1000 category. With wet track conditions, the riders didn’t want to take too many risks.
In Superbikes, Tom Sykes was the fastest with a time of 2:05.605. The Kawasaki rider finished ahead of Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi. Camier, on the Suzuki, was 4th, ahead of the two BMW riders, Marco Melandri and Leon Haslam. The poleman, Jakub Smrz, was 11th, while David Salom finished in 20th position.
In the Supersport category, the local rider Sam Lowes also dominated, taking his CBR600RR to the top of the warm-up with a time of 2:09.401. Behind him was the Turk Kenan Sofuoglu on the Kawasaki, with South African Quarmby 3rd. Cluzel was 4th, Parkes 5th, Talmacsi 6th, Foret 7th and Baldolini 8th. Kenny Noyes, who is taking part as a guest rider on the only Suzuki, finished 16th.
Meanwhile, in Superstock 1000, Barrier recorded the best time, with Guarnoni 2nd, Bergman 3rd, Jezek 4th and Coghlan 5th as the first British rider. All sessions were held on a wet surface, which made setting times very difficult. Keep an eye on our Twitter, where we will post links so you can enjoy the races.
