Supermoto National Championship in Forcarei a total success
Last weekend the third round of the 2016 Supermoto National Championship was held in Forcarei, undoubtedly a race with many riders from the discipline and a large crowd enjoying these spectacular bikes. Plenty of action and truly incredible.
The past weekend the third round of the 2016 Supermoto National Championship was held in Forcarei, undoubtedly a race with many riders from the discipline and a large crowd enjoying these spectacular bikes.
The A Madalena Circuit hosted the riders of the Supermoto National Championship this weekend. It had been a while since this event had been held in Galician lands, and these days have been a good opportunity to get back into action. Motoclub V.F.M was in charge of organizing the race and had the facilities and the dirt track area, so important for this championship, ready for the occasion.
After the races in Albaida and Talavera la Real, the riders arrived eager to give their all and to offer the public a great show, just as they did in those two previous rounds. The timed practice sessions were held on Saturday. In SMOpen, SMPromesas and SMMaster-35, David Giménez set the fastest time. Francesc Cucharrera and Ferrán Cardús joined him on the front row of the grid.
The victory in all three heats went to David, even though he fell in the first one. This way, the rider from Suzuki Grau Racing strengthens his position at the top of the overall standings. In the first heat, Cucha and Gerard Bailo finished second and third; in the second, Cardús and Cucha; and in the third, Cucha and Cardús.
By category, the SMOpen podium consisted of David, Francesc and Zoe Parra; in SMPromesas, Gerard Bailo, Ferrán Cardús and Oriol Peris; and in SMMaster 35, Fernando Urra and Gerard Solano. In SMRoad, Pablo López, Andoitz Bonilla and Jorge Climent were the fastest in Saturday’s timed sessions. The heats, also contested this Sunday, were won by Nuno Rego in the first and Pablo López in the second. Jorge Climent finished second in both, while Rubén Bartolomé and Andoitz Bonilla shared third place. Climent, López and Rego stood on the podium.
In SM65-85-150, Jon Ander Barbero, Marco Morelli and Unai Orradre finished at the top of the overall standings from the timed sessions. Morelli took both heats, while Barbero and Orradre achieved the same result in both, second and third respectively. By category, in SM65 Marco Morelli, Unai Orradre and Sergio González made the podium, and in SM85 Jon Ander Barbero, Álvaro Díez and Alejandro Lorenzana.
The next round of the Supermoto National Championship will take place in Alcarràs, Lleida, on 23 July. The race will be held at night.
