Summary of day 1 of CEV test at Albacete Circuit
The CEV Buckler is about to start, so many riders and teams have taken the opportunity to run a pre-season test at Albacete Circuit, with the first day held yesterday and the last day today.
The Spanish Speed Championship is in training at the Albacete circuit, where some thirty riders are preparing for the upcoming 2012 season of the national speed championship, so many teams and riders are getting on their machines for the first time this new year.
Yesterday was the first of the two days scheduled at the Albacete circuit, promoted by Monlau Competición to prepare with better guarantees for a 2012 that will be one of the most exciting in the CEV Buckler. Michelin and Dunlop are also on track, providing official support, on a day when conditions were fantastic for testing and training, although the wind was a bit bothersome.
The first day was a day of novelties, in which all the riders worked on setting up their respective machines, with bikes from the Moto2, Moto3, Stock Extreme categories and some Moto4-150 4T from other championships visible on track, so there was plenty of activity at Albacete on this day of debuts.
The team with the broadest line-up was the Team Motorrad of the CEV Buckler, which has riders in all three categories and has started working on this layout with all of them. Xavi Forés and Alberto López in the Stock Extreme category; Román Ramos with his new Ariane2 in Moto2, and his three riders in the Moto3 category, Dani Sáez, Albert Arenas and Andrea Migno. Also present is the team that booked the track, Monlau Competición with Emilio Alzamora at the helm, following the progress of their new gems for 2012, with four riders in the Moto3 category, Pecco Bagnaia, Álex Márquez, Lorenzo Baldassarri and María Herrera.
More news such as that of the Chilean Rodrigo Concha, with Team RC for Moto2, who will debut this season in the best national speed championship; although if there was a protagonist today, it was the spectacular Ducati Panigale of Quique Ferrer for Stock Extreme, which hit the track still with its stock fairings, and which continues to draw everyone’s attention, as it will be the first to take to the circuit with sporting intentions.
Other points of interest: the RACC team Honda for Moto3 with Xavi Vierge and Fausto Gratón, or the arrival of the team sponsored by Carlos Lavado, with Gabriel Ramos and Edgar Gallipoli in Moto3. But it is not the only novelty; we have also seen for the first time Santi Barragán with his Kawasaki from the Palmeto Racing PL team, and Sergio Ortega in Stock Extreme, and what can we say about the great team assembled by Team Wild Wolf BST with three riders, Juanfran Guevara, Josep Rodríguez and Kyle Smith.
At the Albacete track there are not only CEV riders, but also the JIR Moto2 from the Motorcycling World Championship is present, so we have Johann Zarco and Eric Granado preparing further for the next IRTA of the intermediate category.
Today will be the last training day for them at Albacete, so keep pushing to the max and prepare the 2012 season in the best way. The shame is that we don’t have times, since it is a private test, so we cannot compare lap times.
Good luck to everyone.
