Rider Steven Odendaal wins Race 2 of the Supersport World Championship at the Portimão Circuit, followed by Cluzel and Caricasulo

The Supersport World Championship was next to head out onto the Portimão Circuit, in better conditions than SBK, with the track almost dry, although with an eye on the sky in case it started raining again.
The start was good for Jules Cluzel, with Aegerter glued to his rear wheel, and both of them building a gap over the rest of the riders, so keep an eye on the 16 and the 77, who want to get away at the front. But on the run past the finish line, we saw an incredible Steven Odendaal moving into first position.
We have lived through some of the most extreme laps among the group of front-runners, as there have been constant changes of position, overtakes and contact between the participants, with the protagonists Odendaal-Aegerter-Cluzel-Caricasulo-Gonzalez-De Rosa-Montella-Tuuli-Oettl.
With 8 laps to go, Odendaal took the lead and tried to break away from the field, leaving Caricasulo and the rest fighting among themselves behind. But Odendaal went wide a lot and lost several positions, leaving Cluzel at the front, but with the rest of the riders right on his tail.
After 3 laps, with 5 to go until the end of the race, we saw González attack Cluzel, but we saw them trade places between the two of them for several laps, with Odendaal tucked in behind the leading duo, so there was a lot of tension among the participants in the final part of the race.
And in the closing stages we saw Tuuli crash out and the field enter the final lap, so maximum tension and finally we saw Steven Odendaal take victory who suffered right to the end, winning by just 0.011s over Cluzel. The top 10 was completed by Caricasulo, Gonzalez, Aegerter, Montella, Krummenacher, Oettl, Sebestyen and Oncu. With this result, Aegerter remains the leader, 54 points ahead of Odendaal.
On to the next race.
