Silva, Hernández, Viñales and Simón go for the 3rd round at Mugello
The Blusens Avintia riders are ready for the third consecutive event of the Motorcycle World Championship, all set for the race at the Mugello Circuit.
The Avintia Blusens team arrives at the ninth event of the Motorcycle World Championship at the Mugello Circuit, with the riders of all three categories having a lot of work ahead of them, from Maverick Viñales in Moto3, to Julián Simón in Moto2 and to the MotoGP guys, Hernández and Silva.
The riders of the premier class will seek to improve with their CRT, as both Iván and Yonny pursue a clear goal: points in the race and trying to be the best in this sub-championship within MotoGP, arriving at an event that marks the midpoint of the season, so it’s time to get down to business.
Both the team and its riders are relentless in their efforts to be among the best in their category, but it’s not easy with Aspar’s ART bikes, and the rest of the machines are also improving. What is clear is that both riders and the whole team work very hard at every Grand Prix. Yonny really likes the circuit and has already ridden very fast there in the past, while Iván faces a new track once again, but the 22 will surely be ready quickly, though calmly and step by step.
Statements from Yonny Hernández:
It’s a “beastly” track that I really like a lot. Last year in Moto2 I crashed, but I was among the top five up to that point and had the fastest lap for several laps, so I’m going to Italy with high expectations. I’m satisfied with my performance in Germany and with the progress we’re making. We’re doing great work with the team and every day we’re more in sync. The bike is getting better and better and I feel strong. We just need to reduce rear tyre degradation during the race. If we do that, I think we can be on the CRT podium.
Statements from Iván Silva:
It’s a completely new circuit for me. I know it’s difficult but also that riding it is thrilling. Everyone tells me I’ll like it a lot but that it’s tricky to get the “trick” of it. I have to confess that on this occasion I’ve cheated a little because I’ve trained on the PlayStation, so I hope it helps me!… The forecast for the weekend is good, so I hope to work on the setup without problems and progress quickly. I want to score points and be among the top five CRTs. I have to achieve it.
In Moto2 we have a superrider eager after his good feeling at Sachsenring: Julián Simón, who race by race is regaining his confidence and getting back to where he should be, although in the race things became a bit more complicated for him afterwards.
Furthermore, in a race where he scored again, and that’s already two consecutive races collecting valuable points, so step by step towards the 60. Last year Julián couldn’t attend Mugello because he was injured, but it’s a circuit he likes and where he hopes to score again and, if possible, do so within the top ten.
Statements from Julián Simón:
Although the race result in Germany wasn’t as good as I would have liked, it was positive for me. I was able to ride with the leaders again and that gave me a lot of morale. It’s true that in dry conditions we’re still not fast enough, but we’re taking steps that will lead us to achieve it. Mugello is a difficult and complicated track, but at the same time very beautiful and exciting for the rider. Last season I couldn’t attend this circuit due to my leg injury, so I’m eager for training to start and to ride it again. I hope to work through the tests without any setbacks to achieve a good setup. As you can imagine, I’m really eager to get a good result.
For Moto3 we have Maverick Viñales arriving at Mugello eager to regain the lead and overcome those small problems we saw at Sachsenring, in crazy days due to the weather and without being able to do much in wet conditions, so it’s time to arrive at the Italian track to fight for everything again and push the current leader, Sandro Cortese.
Both the team and Maverick himself know that during such a long championship there are always moments more difficult than others, but now they’re coming to give everything at this ninth event of the season, to recover feeling and fight for the front positions. Mugello isn’t an easy circuit, but Maverick already knows what it’s like to be on the podium; in 2011 he was 3rd in 125cc.
Statements from Maverick Viñales:
In Germany we lost the lead, but Italy is the ninth race and the midpoint of the championship, so, for better or worse, there’s still a lot of road ahead. After the Italian round we’ll still have to do the same number of races we’ve done so far before the world championship ends… everything is yet to be decided. I’m going to Mugello with the same eagerness as always and with the conviction that we’ll be as consistent as we’ve been so far. Although it’s not the type of track that suits my riding style best, I like the circuit. It’s a demanding track for the rider and one where the engine is important. The KTMs are very fast, but we’ll try to close the gap.
