Sergio Gadea has officially signed with Pons Racing for Moto2 2010
Sergio Gadea will ride for Pons Racing next season, so he will be Axel Pons’ teammate in Moto2. With the signing of the Valencian rider, the rider line-up for the 2010 season is now complete.
Gadea will now have to work with the Kalex, a bike being developed jointly by German engineering firm Kalex and the Pons Racing team. Luckily, the Valencian has already been able to test this machine during the team’s training sessions in Valencia and Almería, when he was given the chance to try out this prototype.
He achieved good results in the latest tests and the feedback was positive, which is perhaps why the team has opted for the 25-year-old to be one of its representatives.

I am very happy with the confirmation that I will race with Pons Racing, and very grateful for the opportunity that Sito Pons and his team are giving me.
I have been surprised by how well this team works in the two experiences we have had together, and that makes me very optimistic for this season.
From the first day I felt very comfortable on the Pons Kalex, a bike with enormous potential. Technically this team is spectacular, and for me it is a luxury to have Sito and Santi Mulero alongside me.

Sito Pons, the team owner, also spoke about the Valencian’s signing:
Since he first rode the Pons Kalex I said that Sergio had surprised me and that I believed he fit the profile of rider we were looking for.
He is a talented rider, as he has proven, though he has always lacked a little consistency. And I think that together we can take a step forward in that respect.
Both his work and Axel’s will be very important for the development of the bike, and I think Sergio’s experience and the enthusiasm of both of them are a great starting point for our project. There is still a lot of winter ahead and a lot of work to do, although I admit I am more than satisfied with how things are going.
