Sam Sunderland wins the stage 7 loop of the 2019 Dakar
Sam Sunderland wins stage 7 of the 2019 Dakar and Brabec leads

Today stage 7 of the 2019 Dakar was run, so we are reaching the end of the edition of the toughest rally in the world. On this occasion we had the first loop stage of this Dakar: 323 km of special stage around San Juan de Marcona, which will once again test the physical and mental capacity of the riders.
Pablo Quintanilla, the winner of the previous stage, was the first to leave on this seventh day, but it was Ricky Brabec who passed WP1 in first position, ahead of Sam Sunderland, and things remained the same at the front. Then Sunderland took over first place at WP3.
Due to fog, the conditions were too dangerous for the race, so the organisers decided to neutralise the motorbike race for 35 minutes at CP1.
Sunderland remained at the front at the WP4 passage, and at WP5 the chasers did change: first Price and then Benavides lined up behind the KTM rider. The passage through WP6 left Sam in the same position, dominating and heading straight for the stage victory, with Cornejo being the closest rider to the lead.
Finally, Sam Sunderland takes the victory, followed by Cornejo, who finished 01min 51s behind, while Brabec took third place. The top 10 was completed by Van Beveren 4th, L. Benavides 5th, Short 6th, De Soultrait 7th, Price 8th, Svitko 9th and Walkner 10th. With this result, Brabec has taken the lead of the competition, with Van Beveren 2nd at 7min 47s and Price 3rd.
The rest of our riders finished as follows: Mena 13th, Monleon 17th, Sanz 22nd, Sola 26th, Romero 35th, Mota 43rd, Borrell 58th, Vega 59th, Julián García 68th, Julio García 69th, Al-lal 77th, Sanchis 80th, Alvarez 93rd.
On to the eighth stage!
