Sam Lowes will be a rider for the CarXpert Interwetten Moto2 team in 2018

Rider Sam Lowes, who currently races for the Aprilia Racing Team Gresini in the MotoGP World Championship, has decided to take a step back and drop down to the Moto2 class in an effort to fight for results and goals. He will leave his machine in the premier class, which will be ridden by Scott Redding.

Specifically, Lowes will be part of the CarXpert Interwetten team, the current team of Thomas Luthi, one of the strong outfits in the intermediate class with which he hopes to fight for results in this class, and also for races, although he will first have to adapt to the category.

While Luthi will move up to MotoGP, as we already confirmed to you a few days ago, so there has been a lot of movement in these last few weeks, although the premier class is almost complete, and we are now waiting for the changes that will occur in Moto3 and Moto2 for the 2018 season.

Lowes’ goal is to fight for victories, podiums and the intermediate class title, but it will not be easy, as there are many riders with Moto2 experience, and readapting to this highly competitive class will not be simple.

The only thing we don’t yet know is which machine the Briton will ride, as many voices are talking about KTM, although Kalex remains the most reliable option. We will see what the team and rider ultimately decide regarding the machine they will have at their disposal for what is expected to be a brutal 2018 in Moto2.
