Sam Lowes provisional Supersport pole sitter at Misano

Rider Sam Lowes is the provisional pole sitter for the Supersport World Championship at the Misano Circuit, where Honda rode very fast in QP1.

Rider Sam Lowes is the provisional pole sitter for the Supersport World Championship at the Misano Circuit, where Honda has looked very fast, and he was the only one able to dip under 1:38 in this QP1 held at the San Marino track, so watch out for him, because he’s riding very strongly.

Although the runner-up is not far behind either, Kenan Sofuoglu, who finished 0.223s behind the leader, so the Kawasaki is not doing badly at Misano, and it will make things difficult in the remaining official practice sessions and the race. Meanwhile, Broc Parkes closed the top 5 with his Honda glued to the Turk’s lap times, fourth was Jules Cluzel, also very close on times to the 2nd and 3rd places, and rounding it out is Stefano Cruciani, who has surprised with his Kawasaki.

A little further back but still inside the top 10 we find Fabien Foret in 6th and Alex Baldolini in 7th. They were the last riders in the front positions to run a 1:39, with the Italian in 25th already at 1:40, so the position of the Triumph Daytona is very interesting. He also set a good pace over laps and was up front for much of the session, so everyone should keep an eye on Baldo+Triumph.

Closing the top 10 are Ronan Quarmby in 8th, Vittorio Iannuzzo in 9th and Roberto Tamburini in 10th. It was a complicated session, as rain began to fall halfway through. It was not very heavy, but it was noticeable in sectors 1 and 2, which caused many riders to slow down. Afterwards, conditions improved and they went back to riding quickly.

Now we’ll look forward to the next session, QP2.
